Le goal average de 40\/40 reflète bien ce que fut cette saison pour un retour dans le groupe Est. Une première partie de championnat très délicate, avec beaucoup de buts encaissés et  seulement 6 points et une 12ème<\/sup> place sur 14, à mi-parcours. Puis à partir d’un succès inattendu (4-0) chez le leader FORBACH, la jeune équipe gueugnonnaise retourne la situation lors des matchs retour, alignant notamment une série de six matchs sans défaite et scorant à 28 reprises pour accrocher une 8eème place inespérée à la trêve.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

? Révélation du polonais Josef SZCZYRBA, à la frappe de balle dévastatrice sur coups de pieds arrêtés et auteur de 11 buts. Il termine second sur le plan national au classement des étoiles (*) distribuées par l’hebdomadaire France-Football.<\/span><\/p>\n

? Le 10 septembre 67 à Mulhouse, en remplaçant son défenseur BADEL, l’entraîneur Emile DANIEL devient le premier 12ème <\/sup>homme de l’histoire du FCG, comme le prévoit dorénavant le règlement fédéral.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

? En novembre 67, contre FORBACH, débuts remarqués de José DUCH (17 ½<\/sup> ans) au sein de l’attaque forgeronne.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

? En janvier 68, contre le FC MULHOUSE, le défenseur Jean-François COGNARD est victime d’une fracture de la jambe qui mettra fin à sa carrière à ce niveau.
