Projetés en pleine lumière par la sensationnelle saison du club, plusieurs joueurs font l’objet de sollicitation de la part de clubs de DI, c’est l’envers de la médaille, et Alain CHAUSSIN, François BLIN et Antoine TRIVINO quittent la cité des Forges pour tenter leur chance chez les pros.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Après avoir un instant réfléchi sur son avenir NOWOTARSKI décide de poursuivre l’aventure avec les nouveaux venus ARBLAY, FOURNIER, BORGNA, ROSSIN et son milieu de terrain infaillible depuis plusieurs saisons : JC BERTHOMMIER, ALBERT et  MAMESSIER.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Malgré quelques coups d’éclat en tout début de saison, la « machine » a des ratés, les couacs s’accumulent et le club va dégringoler jusqu’à la 13ème<\/sup> place à mi-parcours, à trois points de la lanterne rouge, du jamais vu depuis l’arrivée du coach NOWO. En janvier 80, l’élimination au 7ème<\/sup> tour de la Coupe sur le terrain de Valence, assombrit encore plus l’avenir. Une mise au point va servir d’électrochoc. Les trois leaders du groupe AUXERRE, TOULOUSE et AVIGNON font successivement les frais d’un nouveau vent de fraicheur symbolisé par l’efficacité du jeune FERRIERE qui empile but sur but. Une série de 16 matchs sans défaite permet de sauver la face en terminant à la 5e place.  <\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

? Avec respectivement 16 et 15 buts Gérard ALBERT et Jean-Michel FERRIÈRE pointent aux 2ème<\/sup> et 3ème <\/sup>places du classement des buteurs DII. Le n°10 forgeron réalise un quadruplé le 19 octobre contre THIONVILLE (7-1).<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

? Chez les jeunes, les cadets drivés par Alain DESSOLY participent au Championnat National.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

? En février 80, le premier panneau d’affichage lumineux est inauguré de la meilleure des façons, au cours d’un FCG-Gazélec qui voit le compteur monter à 7 buts !<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
