PERPERE quitte définitivement le club pour Mulhouse et le jeune GUTTOWSKI signe un contrat professionnel avec Sochaux.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yvon MASSON qui possède le diplôme devient l’entraîneur officiel du club, mais c’est Henri BOITOUT qui est l’homme de terrain et se charge de la préparation physique. Et ses débuts comme entraîneur-joueur sont immédiatement couronnés de succès. Le FCG qui a largement dominé le groupe Est dispute la poule finale contre ses homologues vainqueurs des groupes Nord, Sud et Ouest.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

D’emblée, les forgerons s’imposent chez le champion du sud-est DRAGUIGNAN (1-0), puis écrasent SEDAN, le leader du groupe nord, sur terrain neutre à Mulhouse (5-0). Le résultat du dernier match va être décisif et le 25 mai 1952, à Jean Laville devant 7368 spectateurs, un but de VANDEN (57ème<\/sup>) permet de disposer des favoris, les Girondins de BORDEAUX (1-0) pour donner le titre à BADET et ses équipiers. Le FC GUEUGNON se voit sacré une deuxième fois Champion de France en réussissant la performance de n’avoir encaissé aucun but pendant la poule finale.
