Dès les matchs de préparation le président PITHIOUD annonce la couleur : "On tourne la page après avoir su tirer les enseignements de la saison passée avec des résultats mauvais et inacceptables". Avec les arrivées des internationaux yougoslaves LUPIC, GEORGJIVESKI, de joueurs confirmés comme DUPRAZ, PANIAGUA, ESPANOL, le recrutement atteste des ambitions affichées et ferait presque oublier les arrêts des "historiques" CHAUSSIN (537 matchs) et  BANDERA (208 matchs), derniers liens avec la génération NOWO.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

L’objectif est une place dans les cinq premiers. Las, cette saison s'avère être une pale copie de la précédente pour le FCG qu’on retrouve en dernière position dès la 7ème<\/sup> journée. Une bonne série (2 défaites en 15 matchs) et le réalisme de CAVEGLIA replacent  le club à un rang plus honorable, mais la lourde défaite (0-5) subie aux Parc des Princes en 8ème<\/sup> de Coupe de France devant la direction générale d’Ugine Chatillon scelle le destin de Jean Yves CHAY dont le contrat est dénoncé.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

? Avec 24 buts, Alain CAVEGLIA termine 2ème<\/sup> buteur du groupe A.<\/span><\/p>\n
